10 days

10 DAYS
So we are 10 days away from out first marathon and David inspired my to create a blog after reading his leading up to Ironman.
Marathon running has been something that has always been apart of my life. I grew up riding in a stroller along the banks of White Rock while my mom pushed my in the stroller. I remember my favorite part of getting to feed to ducks every time we got done. Later in my life, my parents became passionate runners and hence rubbed off on me. In 2008 my 17 year old brother at the time completed his first marathon! Way to go Austin! He finished just over 4 hours. Although we always kid about who is the better runner, we will soon find out!! :)
A few months ago my roommate Ashley decided she was going to go the marathon, so inherently I had to too. My competitive nature gets the best of me sometimes, but needs less to say we have had some interesting times in our training. We have laughed, cried, and pushed further than we could ever imagine. We have had embarrassing bathroom moments, fallen over our own feet, and hit the wall quiet a few times. It is through this training that we have realized what we are capable of when you set your mind to it.
So here we are 10 days out! Wahoo! Just wanted to say good luck to many of the runner's running; Christa, Dave, Lindsey, and "the Grifo's". I wish you the best of luck.
I recently read an article by Mitch Thower in Triathlete magazine called The Gift of An Image.
Just thought I would share a bit of it with you, "According to many psychologists, or everyday experiences are stored in our brains as images, serving as symbols that unlock a multitude of meanings, thought and feelings. So the pictures we experience in life- weather recorded on film or imprinted in our brain's memory banks- very often reinforce our highest aspirations, underline our best qualities and enshrine the people and things we love.
